Shadow Day Program

At a Shadow Day, you will:

• Walk the halls of power in your state or local government, getting to know the people who serve your community.
• Meet members of our Elected Officials Network and learn how the legislative process works in your city or state government.
• Engage with elected officials and values-aligned nongovernmental organizations in interactive panel discussions and question-and-answer sessions.
• Bond with your fellow alumni and future colleagues during our day-long immersive experience

New American Leaders is committed to providing our alumni with opportunities to bridge the gap between learning and serving, and by participating in our Shadow Day program, we will help you demystify what the role of an elected official or staff member is really like, better preparing you to step into your power.
